Rockingham Historic Site

Rockingham served as General George Washington’s final wartime headquarters in 1783. It was here that he wrote his “Farewell Orders to the Armies of the United States,” marking the end of the Revolutionary War. Today, the site is carefully preserved and offers guided tours that highlight its pivotal role in the conclusion of America’s fight for independence.
